Programme of Events for the coming year

At our May meeting we showed a series of short documentaries entitled 'Rural Life'  - part of the 'Britain on Film' series - which have been collected on DVD by the Independent Cinema Office from the BFI collection. It was such a successful evening that we are showing another film, 'East Anglia at War' on March 28th

Our programme until April 2018 is:


June 28th                 Bletchley Park and its Secrets - a talk by Robert Lovesey

July 10th                  Start of Feast Week in Eltisley. There will be something happening every day fom Bingo to Cricket to a Social Evening

July 16th                  Eltisley Church Fête on the Great Green from 2 o'clock on Sunday. We will have a display showing aspects of Eltisley's History

July 26th                  A visit to and guided tour of Denny Abbey and Farmland Museum - details to follow

August 23rd             World War 1 Prisoner of War Camps in and around Cambridgeshire - a talk by Colin Chapman

September 27th       The story of Stirling Bomber N3703 which crashed over Godmanchester in 1943 - by Roger Leivers

October 25th           The History of Audley End - Linda Ketteridge

November 22nd       Training to be an Agent in WW2 - by Bernard O'Connor

December                Social Evening - date to be confirmed

January 24th           The Wind Tunnels of the Royal Aircraft Establishment at Bedford - Barry Tomlinson

February 28th          The history of Heffer's Bookshop by Dr Julie Boundford who has written a book on this famous establishment

March 28th              Film NIght - East Anglia at War. Facinating archive footage of our region 75 years ago
