  • ‘Remembering Eltisley’s Fallen’ wins award!

UPDATE! We have recently received an email from The Cambridgeshire Association for Local History which reads:

Each year the Cambridgeshire Association for Local History makes a small number of Book Awards to the authors of the most outstanding books on the county’s history published in the preceding twelve months. I am delighted to tell you that your society’s book – Remembering Eltisley’s Fallen – has been selected as one of the winners for works published in 2014.

As you can imagine we are delighted and proud of this recognition of our book. With sales well into three figures, with copies residing in Canada and Australia and on the shelves of libraries across Cambridgeshire, we feel we have met the aspirations of our unofficial motto: “To research, record, preserve and publish the history of Eltisley and its people”.

On Saturday, 19th September the group of us who were responsible for the research, writing, illustrating and printing of our book went to Cambridge to receive our Award from the President of the Cambridgeshire Association for Local History, Mike Petty OBE. The framed sertificate will shortly be hanging in the Eltisley Archive.

We still have a few copies of our book at £15. Please get in touch if you would like a copy.
